He is a Chaplain(Colonel)United States Army Reserve, with a Direct Presidential Commission,(June 1977)serving as Battalion, Brigade and Division Chaplain of the 78th Division, New Jersey including four years of active duty in support of Operations Noble Eagle and Iraqi Freedom from 2003 to 2007. (Retired 2007)

Strong Bonds is a course of instruction and inter action provided in a seminar training environment. It's audience is the returning United States Army Soldiers and their families. It's purpose is to assist in answering the soldier's and family's need for an integrative model toward enhancement of relationship.
Chaplain (Colonel) Schoenfeld conducted Eleven Strong Bonds Integration Training Seminars for returning soldiers and their families from 2003 to 2007.
